The rules are simple. We host this site but you, the members, make it what it is. So we're chill and want you to be, too. But in order to maintain this site for the enjoyment of all, we have to observe some basic acts of courtesy and common sense.

We will endeavour to ensure everyone's right to privacy and discretion, freedom of expression, and their inalienable right to life. That means we will protect your lifestyle and basic freedoms so long as they do not impede upon the basic rights and freedoms of others.

General Terms and Conditions

Your access to and use of Planet Ganja and Planet Ganja Services bind you to this Agreement. If you do not agree to the Terms and Conditions of Use (TOU) for this site, you may not use the site or its services.

We may modify this Agreement at any time. Any modifications made to this Agreement will be effective immediately upon posting on the site but will not be enforced retroactively. By accessing or using Planet Ganja or Planet Ganja Services, you agree to be bound by all of the terms and conditions of the Agreement as posted at the time of your access or use.

The terms Planet Ganja "User" and "Member" in relation to this TOU may be interchanged at any time as we see fit.

Disclaimer

Planet Ganja does not endorse, condone nor recommend cultivating, possessing or using Cannabis, Cannabis by-products or any other Substances which may be deemed illegal in your State, Country or Jurisdiction. Planet Ganja does not accept any Liability for damages due to Users' illegal activities. This website, its operators and all content are protected by section 2(b) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. (link)

Planet Ganja does not endorse, condone or recommend revealing your identity or personal information (including photos) to Users or Staff. Users posting content containing personal information do so at their own risk.

We reserve the right to remove, block or restrict any content (including computer accounts and web access) deemed damaging to the successful growth and operation of Planet Ganja. However, as a general rule and site policy, content will only be edited or removed from the public boards in the event of a breach of site security or the TOU.

Privacy Policy

Planet Ganja will never ask for nor require any personal information from any User, nor will we ever divulge any information that may be stored on our servers. We will make every endeavour to protect the privacy of individual members, as well as the online security of the site. However, we cannot take responsibility for each and every action that is conducted here. For this reason it is imperative to understand that Users are ultimately responsible for their own safety. What this means is that you should observe a few simple rules to protect your identity and ensure your private life remains just that - private.

Do not identify yourself in any way, shape or form on this site. This includes photographs, names, initials, telephone numbers, addresses, places of work, recreation or residence and/or any other identifying forms of data that may be related to you, your family, friends or close acquaintances. This is common sense.

Publishing Private Details Policy

We will not tolerate Users posting private details belonging to any Members, their family, friends or close associates (as defined under the Privacy Policy of this TOU) which could possibly be traced or identified from Planet Ganja or Planet Ganja Services without the strict permission of said Member or Members. Due to the nature of the Content on this site, this Policy will be enforced aggressively. Users violating the Publishing Private Details Policy will be warned and have their posts editted or removed. We also reserve the right to suspend, ban or remove the accounts of anyone found in breach of this policy, and/or block them indefinitely from using Planet Ganja and its Services.

Any previous "Public Domain" ruling which had been applied as reasonable defense to the Publishing Private Details Policy shall no longer apply to any active member of the cannabis community (smoker or grower), where it is not deemed to be in the community's interest. This does not apply to those who willfully release information about themselves - although this site strongly advises against it and reserves the right to remove any identifying material - and/or those strictly involved in legal businesses associated with the cannabis or hemp industries (ie: seed vendors, shop owners, merchandisers, publishers etc).

Furthermore, where a Member of the cannabis community finds themselves in the Public Domain through no fault of their own, or has reasonable belief that posting of such details on Planet Ganja may constitute a real-life threat to themselves, family, friends or close associates, they may request anonymity and apply to have such details removed from the public boards of Planet Ganja. In the event said Member is absent from the boards at the time, a member of Planet Ganja Staff may take the initiative to edit or remove such information until such time as it can be determined safe or otherwise.

Real Life Threats of Violence, Bodily Harm or Death Policy

Planet Ganja is dedicated to the free flow of ideas and information between Users and Members. Threats of violence do nothing but stymie communications and promote fear in the community. Therefore any real life threats, depictions, insinuations or incitements of violence or bodily harm towards other Members and/or their family, friends or associates will not be tolerated at Planet Ganja. Offenders will be warned and have their posts edited or removed. We also reserve the right to suspend, ban or remove the accounts of anyone found in habitual breach of this policy, and/or block them indefinitely from using Planet Ganja and its Services. This policy shall extend to the Public Boards, Private Messaging, Chat and Mojo systems of Planet Ganja.

Trading Policy

Members are strictly forbidden from soliciting, offering or trading on Planet Ganja. Offenders will be warned and have their posts edited or removed. We also reserve the right to suspend, ban or remove the accounts of anyone found in habitual breach of this policy, and/or block them indefinitely from using Planet Ganja and its Services.

Age of Use Policy

Use of Planet Ganja and Planet Ganja Services is reserved for those who have achieved the age of eighteen (18) or the age of consent in their State, Country or Jurisdiction (whichever is older). Users violating the Age of Use Policy will be banned from using Planet Ganja and its Services.

Private Message Policy

Private Messaging by its very nature provides the assumption that all correspondence will remain hidden from public scrutiny. Therefore we expect Users to protect private content from the public view. We reserve the right to remove any Private Message or Part Thereof that is posted without the strict permission of the sender. Offenders will be warned and may have their accounts suspended, banned or removed. Personal Messages of a threatening nature - either towards an individual Member, Members, or of a security concern to the Site itself - may be shared with and used by Planet Ganja staff in accordance with the Real Life Threats of Violence, Bodily Harm or Death Policy.

Mojo Message Policy

Mojo levels are on public display and subject to a state of flux. So, by extension, accompanying Mojo Messages are not deemed private and will not be considered as such. If one Planet Ganja Member wishes to convey a strictly private message to another Member or Members, then it is suggested they use the Private Messaging system to do this to guarantee their privacy.

Chat Privacy Policy

The Chat Room will be subject to the same Posting Guidelines as the Mile High Club. The Shark Tank Chat Room will be subject to the same Posting Guidelines as the Shark Tank. Where applicable, all Chat Rooms will be subject to all other conditions of Planet Ganja's TOU. Chat Operators, Site Moderators or Administrators may (at any time) enquire about those idling in the Chat Rooms. Those not responding may be kicked from the Chat Room. Please don't take this personally, as this is only a temporary measure while we wait for the next version of our Chat Software.

Copyrighted Material Policy

No copyrighted material may be uploaded to Planet Ganja without the permission of the copyright owner. This includes, but is not limited to, images, text, and all other types of intellectual property. Users are responsible for obtaining the necessary permission before posting any copyrighted material. If permission is granted by the copyright owner, the User must credit the owner with a link or some other appropriate type of reference.

Planet Ganja respects intellectual property rights and is committed to removing unauthorized material when it is discovered. If you believe that any of your work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please provide Admin and the infringing User with the following information:

A description of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed.
A link to the location of the infringing material on Planet Ganja.

Pornography Policy

Our host as kindly allowed us to freely discuss all issues related to the cultivation and recreational use of cannabis and its by-products. However, pornography laws in Canada are not so liberal. There are many thousands of pornographic websites on the internet which you are free to visit, but there is only one Planet Ganja. We are, therefore, obliged to enact a Pornography Policy.

No User shall upload any pornographic photos, drawings, links or scans to any forum or gallery. Tasteful or artistic nudity is permitted in the Community Chest forum, however all hard-core or offensive material will be removed when discovered. We reserve the right to define the terms "hard-core", "offensive" and "pornographic", and any (visible, but not verbal) sexually-related activity will generally be defined as such.

Child Abuse Policy

Discussions or depictions of sex with children under the age of 16 ("child pornography" or "pedophilia") will not be tolerated on Planet Ganja. As such, all references (including images, drawings, links, scans, song lyrics, quotations or other forms of art or literature specifically relating to underage sex as defined here) will be removed when found. Furthermore, we reserve the right to define the terms "child pornography" and "pedophilia" as they relate to the above clause. We also reserve the right to suspend, ban or remove the accounts of anyone found in habitual breach of this policy, and/or block them indefinitely from using Planet Ganja and its Services.

Spam Policy

No User shall post any links to marketing/referral schemes or directly market products in the public forum without expressed, written permission from Planet Ganja. Users are permitted to have a link in their Signature, provided it’s accompanied by a Referral comment. Moderators are authorized to add a Referral tag to Users Signatures. Companies and Vendors Agents are permitted to have links and comments in their Signatures. If you wish to Advertise on Planet Ganja, please contact the Administrator. Otherwise, we will edit or remove all posts in breach of this policy, as well as reserve the right to suspend, ban or remove the accounts of any habitual offenders, or block them indefinitely from using Planet Ganja and its Services.

User Conduct Policy

Use of Planet Ganja and its Services are limited to adults, so there is a certain expectation that everyone will conduct themselves like adults. We ask everyone (including Staff) to conduct themselves in a civilised manner towards other Members while using Planet Ganja and its Services.

Our Moderation Policy favors our Users' input and encourages the use of the Report Bad Post Feature (hereafter referred to as Mod Alert) in the event of a breach of this TOU or individual Posting Guidelines, as depicted at the top of each Planet Ganja public forum. The Mod Alert button can be accessed by clicking the "!" icon above the Author's Name. Your Mod Alert is never visible for other members to view and helps us determine when a thread or post requires intervention.

We will strive to remain a site for our Users, moderated when our Users request it, but we always reserve the right to remove offensive, abusive or racist posts and threads, or move said content to the Shark Tank forum, without User demand and within the terms of the TOU.

Mod Alerts do not guarantee a thread or post will be moderated. If the offending post is light hearted in nature and not designed to antagonize, we will opt to leave the post or thread unaltered.

Users who wish to report abusive behavior in the General Chat room must send a Private Message to a Site Moderator or Admin. Please do not post a thread in the public forums.

We understand that personal differences will occur from time to time. Therefore we have provided Users with the Shark Tank Forum and the Shark Tank Chat Room. These areas are un-moderated except to enforce Age, Private Message and Private Details Policies as per the TOU. Users are encouraged to keep trash talk and personal attacks in that forum. We will not respond to Mod Alerts in the Shark Tank forum, except for the above-stated reasons.
